The propane industry maintains a strong focus on keeping customers safe during every season of the year. This week, the New York Propane Gas Association, in partnership with NOCO Energy, will host a propane safety training conference at the Bergholz Fire Co., 2470 Niagara Road, from 1:45-3:45 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 25, for emergency responders across New York.
Professionals and volunteers involved with emergency and incident response activities across the state will gather to exchange vital propane safety information, techniques and experiences. The day will begin with a series of classroom sessions and will conclude with field training in the afternoon. This event is part of an annual series of emergency responder training that the association hosts, in addition to other safety training programs offered each year.
"This conference demonstrates the industry's continued commitment to the safety and well-being of fire service, emergency responders, and the public," said Michael DiGiorgio, lead instructor for the course. "The propane industry has hosted training programs like this all over the country for several years now, reaching hundreds of thousands of firefighters, emergency responders, and propane professionals."
"The health and safety of our employees and our propane customers is of paramount importance to NOCO," said Tom Anderson, vice president, environmental, health and safety at NOCO. "We strongly support these types of initiatives that bring together emergency responders to learn best practices about propane safety."
