New York Attorney General Barbara D. Underwood released the following statement Tuesday, after a federal judge granted her motion for a nationwide temporary restraining order filed Monday with a coalition of Attorneys General: "In a major victory for common sense and public safety, a federal judge just granted our request for a nationwide temporary restraining order - blocking the Trump administration from allowing the distribution of materials to easily 3-D print guns.
"As we argued in the suit we filed (Monday), it is - simply - crazy to give criminals the tools to build untraceable, undetectable 3-D printed guns at the touch of a button. Yet that's exactly what the Trump administration decided to allow.
"We went to court to protect New Yorkers - and we will continue to do what's necessary to ensure our public safety. I'm grateful to Attorney General Ferguson and my fellow attorneys general for our continued, successful partnership on this and so many other issues."
The lawsuit filed by the attorneys general remains ongoing.
