Cuomo appoints Chambers, Termin & Swiatkowski
The Niagara Region of the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation has announced Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo recently appointed Thomas Chambers, Budd Termin and Susan Swiatkowski to serve on the Niagara Region Commission.
Chambers serves as a professor of history at Niagara University as well as chairman of the Niagara Falls National Heritage Area. A resident of Niagara Falls, Chambers fills the seat once held by Dr. Gerald Mosey.
Termin, a resident of Amherst, is the program coordinator for the recreational studies department at Niagara County Community College. Termin replaces Thomas Yots.
Swiatkowski serves as the tourism development director in a partnership between the City of Niagara Falls and Destination Niagara USA. Swiatkowski, a Niagara Falls resident, replaces the late Ida Massaro.
"We are pleased to welcome these three new members to the commission. Their unique skillsets and interests will be a valuable addition to our work and the work of all of the parks in the Niagara Region," said Cindy Letro, chairwoman of the Niagara Region Commission.
The Niagara Region Commission is one of 11 commissions that make up the New York State Council of Parks. The Regional Commissions, made up of volunteers appointed by the governor, are charged with acting as an advisory body on matters affecting parks, recreation and historic preservation within their respective regions.
