Teal's Niagara Theatre Co. will produce "Rock of Ages" at the Lewiston-Porter High School Performing Arts Center on July 27-28. The show chronicles the love between wannabe rocker Drew and would-be actress Sherrie. Set to a soundtrack featuring the music of Styx, Pat Benatar, Twisted Sister, Steve Perry and Poison, "Rock of Ages" has been called "the jukebox musical that will melt your face off."
Lew-Port's Michael Giannini (sophomore) and Elizabeth Teal (freshman) take on the lead roles of aspiring artists Drew and Sherrie. Rounding out the cast are: Quinn McGillion, a Niagara University Theatre freshman, as rock star Stacee Jaxx; Lew-Port senior Andrew Brown as club owner Dennis Dupree; Madalyn Teal, a Niagara University freshman, as Justice Charlier; Kayleigh Harrigan, a Mount St. Mary's junior, as protesting city planner Regina; and Dominic Townsend, a Lew-Port freshman, as Lonny, the show's narrator.
"Rock of Ages" is produced by Chris and Amy Teal of Teal's Niagara Theatre Co. as a culmination of a two-week-long theater arts program for students ages 11-18. It will be directed by Sam Sommer, with choreography by Jill Anderson, and music direction by NU adjunct professor Amy Teal.
"Rock of Ages" is showing at 7 p.m. July 27 and at 2 and 7 p.m. July 28 at Lewiston-Porter, 4061 Creek Road. Tickets are available at the door for $10 beginning one hour before showtime. Call 716-262-8100 for more information.
