'Family Movie Nights' begin Thursday
The Village of Lewiston Recreation Department's summer programming series recently began, with activities at the recreation center within the Red Brick Municipal Building (145 N. Fourth St.) as well as in Toohey Park (adjacent to the recreation center). The Recreation Department is offering many new programs as well as expanded summer hours. Included are sports, arts, crafts, a toddler program and health and fitness.
New this summer, "Family Movie Nights" will take place outdoors at Academy Park. Bring a blanket and enjoy movies the entire family can enjoy. Concessions will be available and are presented by Gallo Coal Fire Kitchen. Each movie presentation will have a unique theme and will offer a craft presented by the Recreation Department. Bring your friends and family to this new community tradition.
Movies will screen Thursdays at dusk. The schedule includes: "Cars 3," July 12; "Spider-Man: Homecoming," July 26; "Smurfs: The Lost Village," Aug. 2; and "Peter Rabbit," Aug. 30.
The movies are free of charge due to donations from sponsors Gallo Coal Fire Kitchen, Sevenson Environmental Services, The UPS Store, Stuart Sports, Presti School of Karate, Lewiston Music, Castellani Art Museum, Modern Disposal Services, Hibbard's Custard, Assemblyman Angelo Morinello, Mayor Anne Welch, Albert and Joanne Paonessa and Joel Ryan and family.
