The re-branded Lewiston Harvest and Hops Festival will take place from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 22, and Sunday, Sept. 23.
For the past 35 years, the Niagara River Region Chamber of Commerce has hosted the annual Harvest Festival, featuring craft vendors and a farmers market along Center Street in the Village of Lewiston. The festival has grown tremendously with both vendors and foot traffic over the years and has become a signature autumn inspired event within the Lewiston community. This time around, it will add hops to the mix.
The festival is currently seeking craft vendors to showcase their artwork, jewelry, woodwork, candles and handmade crafts. Center Street businesses are also invited to vend on the street at a reduced rate. A limited number of vendor spaces are available in the farmers market (a New York state-designated market) for vendors to sell their harvest, agriculturally based produce, plants and food items.
This year, Center Street will be closed from Fourth to Seventh streets. Vendors will be set up in the street, to ease congestion for attendees and allow more room throughout the festival.
The hops component will incorporate a beer garden to enhance the restaurant and dining options on Center Street. In addition to the beer garden microbreweries, cideries, distilleries and wineries will be allowed to sell alcohol by the bottle.
Lewiston Harvest and Hops Festival coincides with the start of Buffalo Beer Week, a 10-day event held throughout Western New York.
