Local film group wins award at NCCC Film Fest

A group of local college students filmed the short film 'Last Trip' in Western New York, which screened and took home the "People's Choice Best Film" award at this year's Niagara County Community College Film and Animation Festival on Saturday, May 5. Attempting to impress the new girl (played by Rochester's Roc Actress of the Year and movie Melodie Roehrig), Jeremy, an awkward teenager (played by Ontario native Quinn McGillion) agrees to a camping trip. When they come across two hillbillies, they realize it could be their last. The movie is written by Brennan Derrico, directed by Jeff Toldi and produced by Aaron Webb.
A second viewing opportunity will be available on Sunday, June 10 at The Screening Room Cinema Café. The movie will play along with 'Murder Zone,' 'The Noise Within' and others, starting at 7 p.m. in the Boulevard Mall.
