By the numbers, district voters approved the Lewiston-Porter Central School District's $46.7 million 2018-19 budget by an unofficial count of 693 to 291 on Tuesday.
"Thank you to (the) Lewiston-Porter community for casting your ballots in support of education today! Budget passed decisively," Board President Jodee Riordan said following the vote count.
The Lew-Port Board of Education election saw incumbent Gemma Fournier the high vote-getter with 799, followed by newcomer Natalie Beilein with 702 and Betty VanDenBosch-Warrick with 666. All three ran uncontested this year.
In the Wilson Central School District, voters approved a $27.4 million budget for 2018-19 by a count of 283 to 112. Board of Education members Linda Hurley and Christopher Carlin were re-elected.
As was in the case in many districts throughout Western New York, voting was light in northern Niagara County school districts for school budget/board of education elections.
