The Friends of the Youngstown Free Library will host the ninth annual "Dessert and Wine in the Stacks" bake sale fundraiser from 6-8 p.m. Friday, April 13, at the library, 240 Lockport St. The event is suitable for adults and children.
The dessert and appetizer offerings will come from recipes found in the library's collection. The children's room will present kid-friendly treats, fruit punch and water.
Event organizers said, "This is a very special event, as the community comes together amongst the library shelves to enjoy a social evening whilst sampling the baking prowess of both trustee and Friends board members, as well as library staff."
Tickets for the event are available now at the Youngstown Library: $10 for 12 in advance, or $10 for 10 that evening. Homebaked desserts and appetizers will cost one ticket each. A donation of two tickets is appreciated for a sampling of wine.
The Friends of the Youngstown Free Library has a membership of about 250 and is run by a volunteer board of directors. Members meet at 7 p.m. every third Wednesday of the month at the Youngstown Free Library.
