NACC celebrates Black History Month

The Niagara Arts and Cultural Center announced its 2018 Artists of Color Exhibition opens Saturday, Feb. 10, at 5 p.m., and continues to March 18 at the NACC, 1201 Pine Ave., Niagara Falls.
Celebrating Black History month the ninth annual multiartist show features both professional and amateur African American artists. Under direction of Ray Robertson, exhibit curator, their artwork ranges from traditional oils and watercolors to fabric, photography and sculpture.
The exhibition is presented as part of the NACC's "Second Saturday Series." Featured artists include: Bria Green, Rosetta Monique Smith, Ron Wolford, Sandra Ray, Betty Pitts Foster, Obsidian Bellis, K. Clyburn, James J. Cooper III, MacKenzy Cesar, "Ari" part of the AMOORE Project, Iris M. Kirkwood, Renee Brown, Ray Robertson, Richmond Futch Jr. and Willie Jordon.
The NACC announced The UGRR in WNY, presented as part of its "Monday Night Mixers@the NACC" series, will be held from 6-8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 12.
The event features Ally Sponger and Chris Bacon of the Niagara Falls Underground Railroad Heritage Area. Attendees will learn more about the UGRR in WNY and how it is being represented to area residents and visitors.
General admission to program is a $5 suggested donation; NACC members are admitted at no charge.
