Giving blood is nothing to be afraid of. A pack of wild vampires? That's another story!
On Friday, Oct. 6, Fantasy Island will team up with Unyts to encourage blood donation by offering the first 50 presenting donors free admission to the "Halloween Horror" event.
The blood drive will take place from 1-7 p.m. at the park, located at 2400 Grand Island Blvd. Donors can expect to give blood alongside vampires, zombies and other scary monsters.
"Giving blood is vital for the health of our community - but many people are afraid to donate," Fantasy Island General Manager Chris Kearsing said. "We hope that by partnering with Unyts we can encourage first-time and returning donors to conquer their fears, whether it be the fear of blood donation or the fear of scary monsters!"
Presenting donors are encouraged to book by appointment to secure their spot and complimentary admission ticket. To make an appointment, visit unyts.org.
"Halloween Horror" will take place on Saturdays and Sundays through Oct. 29. The event will include family-friendly activities during the day, including a trick-or-treat trail, pumpkin painting and a hay bale maze; and frightful offerings in the evening, including a haunted maze and three scare zones.
