Project Pride to host fall cleanup

Sat, Sep 30th 2017 07:00 am
Project Pride of North Tonawanda has been busy this summer. Committed volunteers have filled and maintained the planters on Oliver and Webster Streets, which have made a significant visual impact on these business corridors.
For the winter season, members plan to add holiday décor to the planters, to further beautify the city.
In order to prepare the planters for the upcoming season, volunteers need to remove the existing plant material. Project Pride is hosting two opportunities for volunteers to help clean out the planters:
•Webster Street Planters: Saturday, Oct. 14 at 9 a.m. (meet in front of Webster's Bistro).
•Oliver Street Planters: Monday, Oct. 16 at 5 p.m. (meet in front of Sherwood Florist).
Supplies will be provided, but we encourage volunteers to bring gloves. Those interested in volunteering should email Barbara Hughes at [email protected].
Project Pride of North Tonawanda is a nonprofit citizen group whose mission is to promote a sense of identity and pride among the residents of North Tonawanda, while attracting visitors to the community. Volunteers are a critical component to its success.
