Fundraising event to benefit families experiencing homelessness
Family Promise of WNY, a community organization providing temporary shelter and support to families experiencing homelessness within Western New York, will host its third annual "Choc-toberfest" at 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, at Resurgence Brewing Company.
Tickets for the fundraiser are $25 in advance, with a free drink given to any tickets purchased before the event, or $30 if purchased at the event. The evening will feature a celebration of all things chocolate, along with a basket auction, door prizes, a wine cork pull and raffles.
"We are thrilled that our 'Choc-toberfest' event continues to grow each year," said Christian Hoffman, Family Promise of WNY board president. "Our third annual event has found a great partner and venue in Resurgence Brewing Company on the west side of Buffalo, and we are thankful for so many wonderful sponsors that are supporting this effort.
"A special thank you is extended to the numerous sponsors of this year's event, including Rich Products, Brock, Schechter & Polakoff CPAs, Janitronics, Seneca Gaming, Block Club and Ferguson Electric."
Founded in 1996, Family Promise of WNY serves as one of over 200 affiliates of the national Family Promise organization. FPWNY partners with more than 500 volunteers annually through a network of host congregations that house families for one week at a time. Families visit the Family Resource Center each weekday to receive case management services as they work toward finding stable housing.
