The Kiwanis Club of Lewiston has announced it will hold an amusement ride preview night from 6-10 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 7, at Academy Park in Lewiston. The event will lead off this year's Niagara County Peach Festival.
Kiwanis officials reported the Thursday evening lineup would include the midway operated by Amusements of America open and operating on the Academy Park grounds. The evening will also see a number of venders setting up for the 5 p.m. Friday festival opening.
Activities at the park on Thursday evening will be limited to the midway.
Kiwanis members anticipate a busy weekend as they celebrate 60 years of operating the popular Niagara County event.
The Peach Festival will be in full operation come Friday evening, and Lewiston Kiwanis announced that, in addition to the wide range of onsite rides, foods, games and activities, visitors can look forward to an elaborate fireworks display at 10 p.m.
Peach Festival activities continue, both on the streets of Lewiston with Saturday morning's Peach Festival 5K Run, the annual Center Street Peach Festival parade, and at Academy Park throughout the weekend.
Kiwanis officials reported advanced-sale ride tickets will be available for purchase in coming days.
The Peach Festival will be open 5-11 p.m. Friday, Sept. 8, and continue from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 9 and 10. Admission to the park is free.
