Grammy-Award winning rap artist releases duet to follow chart-topping single 'Blessings'
Grammy-Award winning rap artist Lecrae released a new song on Friday, "I'll Find You," featuring Grammy nominated singer/songwriter Tori Kelly.
Produced by Frank E (Wiz Khalifa, Kanye West) and Danny Majic (Flo Rida, David Guetta), the inspiring track is now available at all DSPs. The song follows-up "Blessings," Lecrae's Top 10 single at urban radio. Both songs are featured on his upcoming Columbia Records debut album, out this year.
"I'll Find You" showcases Kelly's unique voice and passionate rendering of the song's chorus, paired with Lecrae's riveting lyrical turns. Both artists elevate the song into a cathartic plea about hope and the road regained.
"They say fear haunts and pain hates," Lecrae raps. "I say pain strengthens and fear drives faith."
Long admirers of each other's work, Lecrae and Kelly were eager to collaborate together in the studio, particularly about a song that had a special meaning for them.
"Life is a precious gift. A gift we often take for granted until it is threatened," Lecrae said. "Pain can be a haunting reminder to appreciate every waking moment. So we wrote a song to share our hope in the midst of that pain. At the time of this song's composition, some of our loved ones were battling cancer. We wanted to encourage them to hold on, and tell them we are here waiting, hoping, praying and fighting with them. Some have been released from their pain forever, others are still fighting. Hold on."
Such authenticity has been the hallmark of Lecrae's studio albums and multiple mixtapes throughout his career. Nearing the 2 million mark in sales, the artist has won a Billboard Music Award, multiple BET, Soul Train and Dove awards, and has an honorary doctorate of music to go along with his two Grammy wins and Best Rap Performance nomination.
Past signature songs include the relatable "All I Need Is You," and the prophetic, hypnotic "Welcome To America," along with the powerfully charged "Blessings," featuring Ty Dolla $ign.
Lecrae is a best-selling author, entrepreneur and social activist. He's a New York Times bestseller after the release of his heartfelt memoir, "Unashamed," and had a breakthrough spoken word performance at the 2016 BET Hip Hop Awards, which drew global praise.
