Lewiston-Porter High School has announced the graduation of its fifth cohort of students from the Academy of International Business & Finance.
The graduates this year are: William Berard IV, Laronda Burns, Nicholas Christman, Liam Donovan, Juanita Finn, Courtney Gunderson, Jacob Lombardi, Nicolette Radomski, Madison Reynolds, Olivia Rizzo, Amrita Singh and Lilly Spanbauer.
"It has been a privilege to work with these bright and accomplished young men and women over the past four years," said Nicole Alonzo, business teacher at Lew-Port High School and director of the academy program. "We wish them well on their future endeavors and are excited to see where their paths may take them."
An academy is a school-within-a-school approach to education, with a focus on a single academic discipline. The program is designed for students who seek to broaden their knowledge in the growing and vital area of international business, and it is meant to be a challenging and rewarding program for those who are interested in a unique educational experience.
Students who successfully complete the program are awarded 12 college credits from Lew-Port's higher-education partner, Niagara University. They complete a 120-hour compensated internship, and participate in an international experience that often includes travel to a foreign country.
