Lewiston Democratic Committee to honor Dave Trane

The Town of Lewiston Democratic Committee has chosen Town of Lewiston Highway Superintendent Dave Trane as Lewiston Citizen of the Year.

Lewiston Democratic Chairwoman Diane Perri Roberts said the committee selected Trane "in recognition of his dedication and service to the community, and his efforts to keep Lewiston safe, beautiful, vibrant and prosperous."

The Lewiston Town Board appointed Trane as highway superintendent following the death of his predecessor, Douglas Janese. Trane was elected to complete the term in a special election in November 2016.

The Citizen of the Year honor will be presented at a brunch from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sunday, April 30, at the Niagara Falls Country Club.

Trane has a long and distinguished record of public service. He served as a firefighter in Niagara Falls for 25 years, and was vice president and president of Local 714, the Niagara Falls Firefighters Association. He also worked for 10 years at the New York State Department of Transportation.

Trane has lived in Lewiston for more that 25 years. He is married to the former Lori Eracitano, a Sanborn native.

"Dave is the model of a fine public servant," Perri Roberts said. "He's hard-working, dedicated, and he enjoys working with everyone and serving the people of Lewiston."

Keynote speaker for the award program will be the Hon. Caroline Wojtaszek, Niagara County District Attorney.

The Lewiston Citizen of the Year event is open to the public. Tickets are available at $50 per person or $90 per couple. Checks are payable to the Lewiston Democratic Committee, P.O. Box 155, Lewiston, NY 14092.
