Wheatfield Lions Club helping families in need

The Town of Wheatfield's Lions Club is providing 16 gift cards for Wheatfield families in need.

Chairperson Nancy E. Rosie said the gift cards provide a means for families to make holiday purchases, enabling their Christmas to be more merry.

Local churches provided the Lions with names of families who could use assistance during the holiday season.

The Wheatfield Lions Club, along with Pellicano's Marketplace, have made the gift card giveaway an annual event.

Rosie said the giveaway is one of many events the Wheatfield Lions Club provides monetary support for, and all money raised by the club goes back to the community.

The Wheatfield Lions Club also provides free used medical assistant equipment to Niagara County residents, including hospital beds, porta-toilets, wheelchairs, walkers, crutches and canes. Equipment can be picked up, and returned when no longer needed, at the Lions Club building at 6535 Ward Road.
