Department seeks input to aid in development of annual service delivery plan for 2017

The Erie County Department of Senior Services has announced it will hold two public hearings to provide residents with an opportunity to comment on needs and concerns of Erie County's older adults and their caregivers. Information gathered at the hearings will assist the department in the final development of its annual service delivery plan for 2017.

"These hearings are a good way for seniors and caregivers to join their peers and let our department know what is important to them. We want to hear about what works for them, what they would like to see improved, and how we can help them achieve their goals," Erie County Commissioner of Senior Services Timothy Hogues said. "These will be good opportunities to voice any and all concerns, so I encourage seniors to join us and be a part of building a better community for all."

Public hearings on plans for aging services:

  • Tuesday, Oct. 25, at Schiller Park Senior Center, 2057 Genesee St., Buffalo
  • Tuesday, Nov. 1, at the Town of Amherst Senior Center, 370 John James Audubon Parkway

Both hearings will begin at 1 p.m., following a noontime "Stay Fit" lunch.

For more information, or to register to speak and be automatically entered in door prize drawings, contact Erie County Senior Services at 716-858-8526. To make lunch reservations at either senior center before the hearing, call 48 hours in advance.
