The Lewiston Community Lions awarded two scholarships for the fall semester.

Jessica Phillips was awarded a $500 scholarship for a Native American who resides on the Tuscarora Nation, and displays a commitment and dedication to his or her education. She will attend the Native student program at Syracuse University, which serves Indigenous students on campus, and is specifically designed for Haudenosaunee Promise Scholars.

Lewiston-Porter graduate Grace Breen was awarded a $500 scholarship based on her volunteer activities and commitment. She was a volunteer counselor at Artpark youth camp, an instructor at Presti Karate Center, and technical producer at Teals Niagara Theater. Her school activities included drama club, student council (she was president), concert choir (treasurer), school musical, a capella choir and vocal jazz choir.

The Lewiston Community Lions wish both these young women the best of luck in all their future endeavors, and hope they will continue to give back to their community.
