The Village of Lewiston Zoning Board of Appeals will hold a special meeting at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, July 21, to review variances requested by Ellicott Development in connection with the Buffalo company's intent to build a mixed-use plaza on 4.1 acres of property bordering Center, North Eighth and Onondaga streets.

The ZBA granted five variances on May 6, only to rescind them afterward following news the board could not award such modifications before the Niagara County Planning Board reviewed the proposal. That body ruled the proposed project of no intercommunity or countywide significance, and sent it back to the village.

The Planning Commission voted to approve a plaza second submission on Monday.

Per the Village of Lewiston's legal notice, here are the requested variances:

Item Nos. 1-B, 5-B, 6 and 7 are new. The ZBA brought up some of these code components in May, but could not vote on them, as they were not included in the public notice prior to the meeting.
