Grand Island Lions Club: Installation and Awards Banquet held

The Grand Island Lions held their 60th annual installation of officers and awards banquet June 8, at the Radisson Inn Grand Island. Past District Gov. Jim Muscoreil installed officers and directors, presented awards and inducted new member Tom DiJohn, who is the CEO of Elderwood of Grand Island.

At the banquet:

•Lion Annette Boies-Lobl received a Melvin Jones Fellowship.

•Lion Donna Lavallee received the Robert J. Uplinger Distinguished Service Award.

•A $2,000 grant for the Lions Club Special Kids Picnic was awarded from the Brandel-Murphy Youth Foundation, a Lions-supported organization providing matching grants for youth-related projects. Grand Island Lion Treasurer Tom Witkowski was instrumental in obtaining the funding.
