Fill your fun quotient while serving as a volunteer at the Herschell Carrousel Factory Museum, 180 Thompson St., North Tonawanda. This is an opportunity for whole families to volunteer together.

The museum seeks volunteers to work as admissions greeters, docents, ride operators and for special events. Carpenters, electricians and plumbers are needed on the building crew. A retired mechanic to help maintain the carrousels would also be welcomed. Volunteers work as many or as few days as they wish from April through December.

Carousel operators run the 1916 Allan Herschell adult carousel, the 1940s kiddie carousel and the four kiddie rides outdoors in Kiddieland. Admissions greeters welcome visitors and take admissions. Docents learn the unique history of local carousel production and share it with visiting tour groups. Carpenters, electricians and plumbers maintain the building and produce exhibit furniture and props.

Many volunteers are needed for special events, including a Victorian tea, "Teddy Bear Picnic," "Halloween Spooktacular" and "Santa on the Carousel."
