Lew-Port voters approve budget; return 2 of 3 incumbents

The Lewiston-Porter School District's $43.091 million budget for 2016-17 won voter passage by a margin of 668 to 205. District voters also approved the Lew-Port repair reserve fund proposition by a 671 to 191 mark.

And in voting for the three open seats on the Lewiston-Porter Board of Education, district residents re-elected two incumbents and elected one new member. Board President Jodee Riordan was the top vote-getter with 635 votes, followed by newcomer Matt Mariglia with 615, and incumbent Anna Wright with 579 votes. Incumbent Betty Warrick finished fourth with 454 votes.

Lockhart and Zastrow win in Youngstown

Voting was light Tuesday for the two open seats on the Youngstown Village Board of Trustees. Unofficial tallies saw incumbent Tim Lockhart winning re-election with 231 votes cast, followed by attorney Steve Zastrow with 157.

Lifelong resident Dotty Riordan, wife of the late Mayor Neil Riordan, finished third with 153 votes and is now considering a recount of the final results. She cited a number of allegedly problematic issues with village voting procedures.
