The Historic Lewiston Jazz Festival board of directors announces the availability of a $1,000 scholarship to be presented at the 15th annual Lewiston Jazz Festival.

Scholarship applications and information on how to apply are available online at www.LewistonJazz.com. High school seniors and current college students who live in Niagara or Erie counties and accepted into a college music program may apply. Students interested in applying must show proof of acceptance to a music program at an accredited college/university.

The application deadline is June 3.

Jenna Stinis, a vocalist, 2015 graduate of Niagara Falls High School and music student at Buffalo State College, won last year's scholarship and had the opportunity to perform the U.S. National Anthem prior to the headliner performance at the festival.

The scholarship committee will review the applications and announce the winner at the Lewiston Jazz Festival, at 8 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 27, prior to the Curtis Stigers headlining performance on the main stage.

For more information regarding the scholarship process, contact Jennifer Pauly, Jazz Festival scholarship chairwoman, at 716-754-9500, ext. 12, or email [email protected].
