Lewiston Lions receive Lions Club International awards
The Lewiston Community Lions Club completed the Lions International Centennial Challenge, earning Emerald, Sapphire, Ruby and Diamond patches for providing service to the community in the "Engaging our Youth," "Sharing the Vision," "Relieving the Hunger" and "Protecting the Environment" campaigns.
"The Lewiston Lions actively participate in our community where needed. In the last two years alone, we have provided multiple youth vision screenings throughout the community, donated thousands of dollars and clocked hundreds of hours of volunteer time for no other reason but the help make our community a better place for everyone," club President Regina Cecconi said.
Charter member and Zone Chairman Lion Ronald Craft was presented with the "Builders Key Award" from Lions Clubs International on March 1 at The Brickyard Pub & B.B.Q. Charter member Lion Tom Huisgen presented the award, stating, "Lion Ron is a dedicated Lion, who is committed to the sustainability of the club, and its contribution to our community."
The "Builders Key Award" is granted to members for sponsoring 10 new members into a club. Craft's is 23 since the club's chartering in 2006.
"I wish to thank the Lewiston Lion members for contributing to this award, and playing a major role in helping to make our community a better place to live," Craft said.
