Golden Age Center: Sweethearts Luncheon makes for Happy Valentine's Day

Sat, Feb 20th 2016 10:30 am

The Sweethearts Luncheon was a romantic way for all of Golden Age Center members to celebrate Valentines Day.

The tradition with the Sweethearts Luncheon is to honor and celebrate all of the Golden Age sweethearts who have been married 50 years or more. There were seven couples, all married 50 to 68 years, all in attendance to celebrate. Members enjoyed getting their photos taken, sporting props at the Photo Booth.

The group even sang "Happy Birthday" to member and Valentines Day baby Shirley Martin, who turned 90 years young on Feb. 14.

State Sen. Marc Panepinto and his staff and aides - Chris, David and Nicole - helped serve lunch to all who enjoyed lunch.

Festivities concluded with music by Lyle Stang, who had the crowd up on their feet, dancing, singing and enjoying the company of great friends.
