19th event will benefit Niagara County's neediest

Community Missions Inc. will hold its 19th annual Sweetheart Dinner Friday, Feb. 5, at the Conference & Event Center Niagara Falls. In order to make the event a success, the agency is in great need of basket donations.

Each year, the fundraiser features more than 100 auction items, which, in past years, have included designer bags, restaurant gift certificates, signed sports memorabilia and fine jewelry.

Donations are asked to be turned into Community Missions (1570 Buffalo Ave., Niagara Falls) by Jan. 22 and may arrive wrapped or unwrapped.

In addition, tickets and event sponsorships are available.

Event proceeds benefit the agency's crisis services programs, which include the community soup kitchen, food pantry, clothes closet and emergency housing shelter.

The evening will begin at 6 p.m. with basket viewing and cocktail hour. During this time, guests can purchase basket, raffle and 50/50 tickets, bid on silent auction items, visit the cash bar, pick on hors d'oeuvres, and enjoy live music by Celtic Cross Duo.

Special thanks to event chairs, Joseph Ruggiero of the Buffalo Police Department and Jaime Ruggiero of Jobena Bar & Restaurant Essentials.
For more information on how to become an event sponsor, donate a basket or purchase/reserve tickets, contact Andrea Gray at 716-285-3403, ext. 2225, or [email protected]. Tickets are also available online at communitymissions.org.
