Tonawandas Chamber celebrates new chapter

Fri, Oct 9th 2015 04:00 pm

The Chamber of Commerce of the Tonawandas Inc. held its official ribbon-cutting Sept. 24 for its new location, 254 Sweeny St., North Tonawanda.

"We now have more square footage, are handicap accessible and street level with a beautiful view of the Erie Canal. I would eventually like (it) to become a Visitors Center for all travelers," Executive Director Angela R. Johnson-Renda said.

The new location comes with new incentives for those looking to become a member.

"New members can expect marketing assistance through our membership, member-to-member discounts, free certificates of origin, AAA membership and 15 percent off on renewal, and much more," Johnson-Renda said.

The chamber holds monthly meetings with partners Gateway Harbor, Twin City Promotions and Economic Development committees made up of citizens, volunteers and business owners from both Tonawanda and North Tonawanda. It also offers monthly networking events, annual expos and community events.
