Mount St. Mary's Hospital medical staff announces scholarship recipients

The medical staff of Mount St. Mary's Hospital has announced the recipients of three scholarships presented to local high school students and one to a hospital associate advancing her education.

Those receiving the $1,000 awards are: Audrey Wagner of Wilson Central High School, Julia Drozdowski of Grand Island High School and Bryan Felstead of Niagara Catholic High School. In addition, a scholarship was presented to Mount St. Mary's nurse attendant Lindsey Bradigan who is pursuing a degree in nursing.

Medical Staff President Frank R. Laurri, M.D., said the awards were presented to applicants seeking to pursue a career in medicine and were based on scholastic achievement and community service.

The medical staff represents 260 physicians at Mount St. Mary's Hospital. The scholarship committee included Laurri, Thomas A. Cumbo, M.D., vice president of medical affairs at Mount St. Mary's; Domonic F. Falsetti, M.D., former chief of staff at Mount St. Mary's; and Shawn P. Ferguson, M.D., pediatrician.
