Wheatfield GOP to host annual family picnic

The Town of Wheatfield Republican Club will hold its 45th annual family picnic from 1 to 6 p.m. Aug. 16 at the Wheatfield Lions Club Pavilion on Ward Road next to the American Legion Post.

The picnic is open to the public. Tickets are $15 for adults. Children under 16 accompanied by a parent are free. Hot dogs, hamburgers, Italian sausage, steamed corn, salads and desserts are included in the price of the ticket and will be served all afternoon.

Tickets may be purchased from the picnic committee members or at the picnic.

In addition, there will be euchre and ladder golf tournaments, as well as other adult and children's games held during the afternoon.

Congressman Chris Collins, state Sen. Robert Ortt, state Assemblyman John Ceretto, Niagara County Clerk Wayne Jagow, Niagara County Clerk candidate Joseph Jastrzemski, Niagara County District Attorney Michael Violante and three county Legislature candidates have been invited to attend.

The committee includes Bob Cliffe, chairman, and the following co-chairs: Larry Helwig, beverages; Gil Doucet, corn; Jim Heuer, hot dogs, hamburgers and Italian sausage; Kathy Harrington, salads; Don Dee, tickets; Art Kroening, euchre; Winston Moeller, ladder golf, and Nancy Rosie, door prizes and bingo. Art Gerbec is the picnic treasurer.
