Candidate for Grand Island Town Council

I am excited and proud to throw my hat in the ring and officially announce my candidacy for Grand Island Town Council.

Grand Island has been my hometown for 28 years. Over that 28-year period, I met my wife of 21 years and raised both of my sons here on the Island.

I earned an associate's in natural resource conservation in 1984 from SUNY Cobleskill and a bachelor's degree in communication in 1994 from the University at Buffalo.

I have worked here on the Island the past 28 years at a local biotech firm, where I am currently a senior program manager. I am a GI volunteer fireman as well.

I am driven to ensure good government that represents the people.

As a resident of Grand Island, I have focused on ensuring our local government is transparent and the public is informed and educated. In recent years I scheduled and facilitated meetings on the property re-assessment plans (three), Town Board downsizing (three debates between the board and Kevin Gaughan) and Grand Island school budgets and capital plans, just to name a few.

I discovered that we the people have the ability to hold our own informational meetings and town officials would attend provided they were treated fairly and professionally.

If elected, I will maintain my commitment to reform, transparency, tax relief and accountability in order to further strengthen our community and contribute towards making Grand Island an even greater place to live and work.

As the endorsed Independence, Conservative and Republican Party candidate, I respectfully ask for your vote on Primary Day, Thursday, Sept. 10.
