Harmonia Chamber Singers and Camerata di Sant'Antonio Chamber Orchestra team up for free concert to support Niagara Hospice

Two Western New York musical groups are teaming up to offer a free concert and raise funds for a worthy cause: Niagara Hospice. At 7:30 p.m. Friday, July 10, the Harmonia Chamber Singers and Camerata di Sant'Antonio Chamber Orchestra will host "A Midsummer Night's Music" at First Presbyterian Church in Lockport. Admission is free. Donations to Niagara Hospice are gratefully accepted.

The groups will perform music of Poulenc, Sametz, Piazzolla, as well as Rodgers & Hammerstein, the Beatles and more. The evening concludes with Schubert's romantic "Gesang der Geister über den Wassern" ("Song of the Spirits over the Waters").

Harmonia Chamber Singers founder and artistic director Rob Pacillo organized the event, leading the decision to select Niagara Hospice as the beneficiary in recognition of the compassionate care the agency provides to Niagara County residents.

"When we were considering an organization to select as the beneficiary of the event, we wanted to find one that had a community-wide impact and truly made a difference in people's lives," Pacillo said. "And Niagara Hospice was an easy choice."

The Harmonia Chamber Singers is a professional-caliber à cappella ensemble based in Buffalo. The group is dedicated to presenting quality à cappella choral performances in a way that is accessible to all audiences.

Camerata di Sant'Antonio Chamber Orchestra presents concerts that preserve and celebrate the cultural heritage of this community. Recently, the group launched a new initiative called "TakeNote." The group seeks out opportunities to play for free, encouraging people from the community to "TakeNote" of the important organization being recognized. The July 10 event will "TakeNote" of Niagara Hospice.
