New York State Youth Hockey Championships come to Northtown Center in Amherst

43 teams from across the state will compete

Hundreds of budding hockey stars will converge on the Northtown Center in Amherst for the New York State Youth Hockey Championships March 6-8. A total of 43 teams from across New York will compete in the tournament, including the boys' 16U and 18U tiers I and II and the girls' 16U tiers I and II.

The tournament is free and open to the public. Players and their families will occupy more than 3,000 hotel room nights. The tournament has an estimated economic impact of $ 1 million.

The schedule for games and results are posted at nysaha.com. The tournament is presented by Amherst Youth Hockey, the Buffalo Niagara Sports Commission and Visit Buffalo Niagara.

Amherst Youth Hockey Inc. organizes and conducts a complete program of recreational and competitive hockey for the youth residents of the Town of Amherst and others.
