You've seen them hit, juke, fall and fly ... but they've never moved like this before. Roller derby hits the city starting in February at Buffalo RiverWorks.
On Friday, Feb. 6, the Queen City Roller Girls, Western New York's premier women's flat track roller derby league, will debut at a new home venue, the Buffalo RiverWorks entertainment and event center located on the Buffalo River shore.
After eight successful seasons in North Tonawanda, Queen City Roller Girls are excited to bring their brand of excitement to Buffalo at Buffalo RiverWorks, a new multipurpose venue located at 359 Ganson St. RiverWorks will host the Queen City Roller Girls on a first-in-kind purpose-built roller derby track.
In addition to roller derby, Buffalo RiverWorks will house bars, restaurants, a brewery, concert stage, covered outdoor ice rinks, and a second-level mezzanine overlooking the track.
The 2015 season will feature some of the best amateur female athletes Western New York has to offer, featuring contests between the Nickel City Knockouts, Suicidal Saucies, Devil Dollies and Alley Kats, as well as QCRG's internationally ranked travel team, the Lake Effect Furies, hosting visiting teams from around the world.
