On Thursday, Sept. 25, about 20 minutes past midnight, Niagara County Communications received a 911 call from the clerk at 7-11, 6880 Plaza Drive, Wheatfield, reporting that she had just been robbed by a white male wearing a red sweatshirt that was turned inside out. He also displayed a knife.

A small amount of cash and cigarettes were taken in the robbery.

Patrol units from the Niagara County Sheriffs Office, the New York State Police, and The Town of Niagara Police quickly went to the area. A vehicle was stopped by the Town of Niagara Police in the area of the robbery, and further investigation led officers to believe that the sole occupant of the vehicle was the suspect in the robbery.

The Criminal Investigation Bureau and Crime Scene Unit were called to the scene to assist. The suspect was later charged with robbery in the first degree and grand larceny in the fourth degree in relation to this robbery. He was also charged with robbery in the first degree and grand larceny in the fourth degree in relation to a robbery at Tim Hortons, 2248 Niagara Falls Blvd., Wheatfield, which occurred on Sept. 21.

The suspect is identified as 24-year-old Kyle M. O'Flaherty, from Niagara Falls. He was arraigned in the Town of Wheatfield Court by Justice John Mattio. Bail was set at $20,000 cash/$40,000 bond on each count of robbery. The suspect had a return court date in Wheatfield court on Oct. 1.
