With the support of his family and friends, Don Schildhauer has formally announced his candidacy for Town of Niagara supervisor.

Schildhauer described his vision to see a return to local government that is "always willing to listen."

He looks to reach out to town citizens searching for a new face with fresh ideas to provide leadership and accountability as supervisor.

He is the endorsed Republican, Conservative and Independent candidate, but will be in the Conservative and Independent primaries against a write-in line.

Schildhauer is a lifetime resident of the Town of Niagara. He is manager for Valley Tire in the Town of Niagara, a position he has held for more than 15 years. Experience there includes managing a multimillion-dollar budget, as well as building and maintaining customer and employee relations.

Schildhauer lives in town with his wife of 25 years Peggy (Rizzo) Schildhauer. They have two sons, Donald and Angelo.

Town of Niagara Supervisor Steve Richards resigned earlier this year. Currently, town administration is being handled by Sylvia Virtuoso, combining deputy supervisor and town clerk duties.
