A historic marker honoring Betsy Doyle was unveiled in Falkner Park before a crowd of hearty onlookers on a raw Saturday morning, March 22, in Youngstown.
Jodee Riordan portrayed Betsy Doyle as Niagara County Historian Kate Emerson related a brief history of Doyle's life to the crowd before some words from Niagara County Clerk Wayne Jagow and Niagara County Legislature Chairman Bill Ross. Jan Johnpier helped "Betsy Doyle" unveil the marker.
Following a musket volley from War of 1812 soldiers from Old Fort Niagara, visitors retired to a reception in the Ontario House.
