The Lewiston-Porter Central School District and YMCA Buffalo Niagara will conduct their annual universal pre-kindergarten application process for students who will be 4 years old on or before Dec. 1, 2014, and who are not eligible for kindergarten. There is no charge to enroll a child in this program. The program will be a half-day, starting at 8:45 a.m., with dismissal at 11:15 a.m., beginning this fall.

Beginning Monday, April 7, application forms will be available at the Primary Education Center from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday, through May 5. It is not necessary for children to accompany parents to pick up the application. Applications can also be downloaded from the district's website: www.lew-port.com.

If applications exceed maximum enrollment, a public lottery will be conducted Friday, May 16, in the Primary Education Center Library.

The application is not a registration form. Universal pre-K registration will be conducted Tuesday, June 17, at the Primary Education Center. The following information is needed at the time of pre-K registration: proof of age, proof of residency and certificate of immunization. Information on special education services is also helpful.
