Lewiston kicked its winter blues this weekend with the second annual Lewiston Cocktail Festival. Large groups of village visitors lined the sidewalks, as more than 1,000 people patronized 10 participating eateries Friday and Saturday. Patrons walked door-to-door, stopping into restaurants to sample a signature drink and grab a bite to eat.

Organizer Melissa Morinello of Sparkle Marketing & Events said the event was a great success. The festival celebrates Lewiston's unofficial status as birthplace of the cocktail.
