Public's assistance sought in locating armed robbery suspects

The Niagara County Sheriff's Office, New York State Police, Niagara Falls Police Department, Middleport Police Department and the Lockport Police Department are currently investigating a string of armed robberies that have occurred throughout Niagara County, between Dec. 24, 2013, to Jan. 9, 2014.

The subjects involved are believed to be white males, approximately 5-feet, 6-inches to 6-feet tall, of medium build and have displayed a small semi-automatic handgun.

The public is being asked to remain observant in and around local businesses. The public is also encouraged to forward any tips or information regarding the robberies to the Niagara County Sheriff's Office 24-hour line at 716-438-3393 or during business hours to investigators Brian Schell at 716-438-3328 or William Evans at 716-438-3335. Wheatfield Citgo robbed

The Niagara County Sheriff's Office is investigating an armed robbery that occurred at 10:24 p.m. Jan. 13 at the Citgo Jolly Roger convenience store, 2065 River Road in Wheatfield.

The suspect entered the store and displayed a long gun to the clerk, demanding cash. The suspect left the store after taking an undetermined amount of cash. The suspect left the area, heading east through the parking lot.
