Orleans/Niagara BOCES will start its fall driver and traffic education course on Monday, Sept. 16. The program is being offered at the Orleans/Niagara BOCES Conference Center in Sanborn and Medina High School to all students who are 16 years of age as of Sept. 16, and who possess a valid state permit and a 48-hour course to learn how to drive responsibly.

Students who successfully complete the course receive a MV285 certificate, which enables students 17 years of age to secure a senior operator license and are eligible for insurance reduction depending on the company. All instructors are certified New York secondary teachers and driver and traffic safety education instructors.

The cost of the program is $400 per student. Download the registration form at www.onboces.org. Go to the Quick Links section of the first page and click on Driving School. For questions, call 1-800-836-7510, ext. 3763. School guidance counselors also will have forms.
