More than 90 employees, residents and family members from The McGuire Group's Northgate Health Care Facility in Wheatfield recently honored 24 resident veterans who served our country with honor and pride.
The ceremony included a presentation by the Niagara Falls John Bobal Detachment Marines League Color Guard followed by a reading of each resident's rank, position and branch of service. An American flag was then pinned on each veteran. After the color guard presented, members of Northgate's activity department held a flag folding ceremony and resident veteran Bill Kern sang "God Bless America" with the accompaniment of activity leader Kim Mitchell on the clarinet. Mitchell also played taps on the clarinet.
