Orphia C. Casper, a longtime resident of Grand Island, entered into rest Sept. 19, 2011. She was the loving wife of the late Richard L. Casper; beloved mother of Gregory R. Casper, David B. Casper, Michelle M. (Alex) Richardson, and Timothy L. (Jeanne) Casper; cherished grandmother of seven; great-grandmother of one. She is also survived by many close friends who have shared countless trips, classes, clubs, concerts, and get-togethers that kept her young at heart until the very end.

Casper began her career substitute teaching, became a Kaegebein Elementary School teacher, and after her retirement continued her involvement in the church teaching Bible study, singing in the choir, and volunteering in various committees.

Although her passing was quick and unexpected, her life was full and active until the very end. She was dearly loved and will be missed immensely.

A funeral Mass will be held Monday, Sept. 26, at St. Stephen R.C. Church, 2100 Baseline Road, followed by a bereavement gathering.
