Community food drive at Cornerstone Community FCU

Cornerstone Community FCU, Cornerstone Arena and Mills Jewelers invite the community to come out for a canned food drive on Friday, June 26. Businesses and neighbors are asked to bring their canned goods to help support Niagara County food banks.

The event will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Cornerstone Community FCU main office, located at 6485 S. Transit Road, Lockport. Lockport Youth Hockey Association teams from Cornerstone Arena will be on hand as volunteers for the day.

“The purpose of this event is for local businesses and community partners to join together to make an impact in Niagara County. During a challenging time, it’s uplifting for us to unite and make a large donation to our food pantries to support the underserved,” said Ashleah Canastraro, director of marketing at Cornerstone.

Several Niagara County businesses have donated food and prize items for the event, including thank you bags and gift cards. In addition, food drive co-sponsor Mills Jewelers will raffle off a pair of diamond earrings valued at $500. One can enter to win with a donation of 20 canned goods, or $20.

Chiavetta’s Chicken BBQ will also be available, for $10, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. (or sold out). Preorder dinners are available through a link on the Facebook event page, https://forms.gle/tCM7yDQQagyfMjC18.
