Village of Lewiston Mayor Anne Welch said she spoke with Ellicott Development, and construction is expected to resume shortly on the plaza at Center, North Eighth and Onondaga streets.

One portion of building No. 2 is now open, and occupied by Quest Diagnostics.

Work came to a halt in late March, when Gov. Andrew Cuomo put “New York State on PAUSE” to slow the possible spread of the coronavirus.

Local construction companies were given the green light to resume almost two months later, when Western New York entered phase one of Cuomo’s “New York Forward” reopening process.
