Niagara-Wheatfield BOE

Niagara-Wheatfield is now accepting online student registration for all new students. If one has a child who will enroll in the Niagara-Wheatfield Central School District this fall, they can now register online.

To register online, visit www.nwcsd.org and find “Student Registration” under “Site Shortcuts.” Once the online registration is signed, a person will be directed to other supporting registration forms and be able to submit the required documents listed to complete registration.

Two reminders from the town clerk:

√ All dogs must be licensed and on a leash. The town has had many complaints of loose dogs. There is a $250 fine.

√ Do not put cut grass into the street, as it is slippery and dangerous for bikers, walkers, children, etc.

Niagara-Wheatfield High School joint reunion picnic cancelled

The Niagara-Wheatfield High School 50+ Joint Reunion committee has cancelled its Aug. 16 picnic due to the COVID-19 virus. A press release said, “We want all our classmates to stay safe and healthy! Plans are now being made for the August 2021 picnic and we encourage alumni to plan on attending then.

Sanborn Historical Society scraps pancake breakfast, fest

The Sanborn Historical Society said it “is sorry to inform our hamlet and surrounding areas that we are cancelling our pancake breakfast on June 14 and our Farm Festival on July 25-26 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We hope to see you soon. Stay safe.”

North Tonawanda Botanical Garden Organization, Lumber City Church Partner on Imagine

The North Tonawanda Botanical Garden Organization has partnered with Imagine Garden and Lumber City Church to grow tomato plants from seed for their community garden.

A press release said, “The NTBGO is proud to support our Imagine Community Garden on Sommer Street, which provides space for North Tonawanda community residents to have a garden of their own, and to join other resident gardeners in growing and tending to vegetable gardens to assist low-income families and our food pantry. Lumber City Church has partnered with Imagine Community Gardens to take care of all expenses and maintenance for the community garden.”
