BABEL series continues at Kleinhans Music Hall

Just Buffalo Literary Center’s 2019-20 BABEL season continues with celebrated writer Marilynne Robinson on March 18 at Kleinhans Music Hall, beginning at 8 p.m.

“We’re so thrilled to welcome Marilynne Robinson to Buffalo,” said Barbara Cole, artistic director of Just Buffalo Literary Center. “Robinson is a gifted storyteller and a brilliant thinker. She has the courage to contemplate larger questions about truth, faith, right versus wrong. In a world that seems increasingly sped up, Robinson shows us how to slow down and look deep within ourselves.”

Robinson’s novels include “Gilead,” winner of the Pulitzer Prize and National Book Critics Circle Award, and “Housekeeping,” winner of the PEN/Hemingway Award, among more than a dozen notable and prize-winning books of fiction and nonfiction essays. She was awarded the National Humanities Medal in 2012 by President Barack Obama, who praised “her grace and intelligence in writing.”

BABEL brings the world’s top writers to Buffalo for an author talk, audience Q&A and book signing.

Tickets are available to the general public for $40; $35 with library card; or $10 with student ID. Patron VIP tickets, which include an author reception before the event, are $100. Just Buffalo also participates in the Arts Access program, a local initiative that provides free tickets to community members in need.
