Free Alzheimer's seminar at Stella Niagara's Center of Renewal

The Sisters of St. Francis at Stella Niagara are having a craft show on June 26 weekend. All the items are handmade by the sisters. Proceeds will benefit the Alzheimer's Association of WNY.

Leading up to that, the sisters will hold monthly seminars, free and open to the public, presented by the Alzheimer's Association. The first event is 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 6, inside the Center for Renewal conference room. It’s titled, "The Warning Signs of Alzheimer's."

Early diagnosis gives people with Alzheimer's disease the opportunity to make key decisions about treatment, care and planning, and the power to make choices about their own health and future. This program will increase awareness of the benefits of Alzheimer's early detection, and provide information about memory loss and normal aging, Alzheimer's disease, and other forms of dementia. Also learn about the risk factors, 10 warning signs, diagnostic process and resources to help.
