The Lewiston Garden Club and Village of Lewiston Beautification invite the public to the dedication of the “Best Friends” sculpture donated by Francis and Marie Williams, and a redbud tree planted and donated by friends and family of Jeanne Blinco, a deceased Garden Club member. The ceremony will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29, at Seneca Park, the green space next to the Lewiston Public Library.

Everyone is invited.

In the center of the park, a sculpture of a young boy and young girl on a bench was placed along with a redbud tree, spirea and boxwood bushes. The sculpture was a gift from the Williams, Lewiston residents. The piece was chosen by the Garden Club to encourage reading.

The redbud tree was donated in memory of Blinco, who was an active Garden Club member for many years. The planting and design of the new placement was done with the help of Kevin Brown, a local landscaper.

The trees that were part of the original Memory Garden plantings will have new plaques attached, provided by Lewiston Beautification.

Members of the Garden Club, Village of Lewiston Beautification Committee, Village of Lewiston Department of Public Work, and Brown all participated in this endeavor.
